Miss Marie’s Learning Center Won BEST MONTESSORI SCHOOL in both Lakeville and Apple Valley – 2023!

Our Philosophy

To the world you may be one person: but to one person you may be the world. -Dr. Seuss

Miss Marie’s Learning Center follows the basic Montessori Methods. Our philosophy is limitless education. We believe that children will rise to their full potential when interacting within an environment that promotes learning.

Our program focuses on enhancing a child’s natural curiosity. There is no limitation to any child’s potential, and a ratio of 1 teacher to 8 children helps to maximize the opportunity to achieve this. We celebrate the unique gifts of each child. Our students have “guided” freedom in their work, while teachers keep a mindful eye that all areas of study are touched.

About

We educate children from ages 33 months to six years of age.

We have a great deal of experience in working with children. We assess each child to determine the appropriate level of challenge, and we do not limit a child’s learning based upon age. Each child is able to learn at a pace and level that will enhance their innate love of learning. Our focus, however, does not stop at academic achievement.

By providing a nurturing, supportive and inclusive environment filled with the arts, music, languages, field trips and other life experiences, we help children grow in their interests, thoughts and expressions.

Several program plans are available to meet different needs, including a safe and fun extended care program.

Children First

We have a strong academic base in Literacy and Mathematics.

Last year 90% of our children were reading. Mathematically, ALL of our children were able to add and subtract. Keep in mind that our average age is 4!

Although our focus is Academic, our students are children first! We focus on the “total” child, as we try to instill respect for themselves, for their peers, and their environment. We teach independence by taking care of themselves and others around them, i.e. putting on their own coats, tieing their shoes, etc. Children that can do things for themselves build strength and confidence.

We have a great deal of experience identifying and working with gifted and talented children. We assess each child to determine the appropriate level of challenge and do not limit a child’s learning based upon age. Our experience has also taught us that gifted and talented children have unique social and psychological needs. By providing a nurturing and supportive environment, we can help children grow their interests, thoughts and expressions.

Our Program

We offer several different programs intended to meet the needs of our families in today’s climate. We are open Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 6:00pm.

SCHOOL ONLY: 3, 4 or 5 days school days a week (9:00am to 2:30pm.)

SCHOOL DAY: 3, 4 or 5 days a week (7:00am to 6:00pm.)

HALF DAY: 3,4 or 5 days a week (9:00am to 12:30pm.)

If a family contracts for a 3 or 4 day program, the family may select which “set” days work best. We know that there will be instances when a family will need to change the day. In these instances, Miss Marie’s Learning Center requires a 24 hour notice of request, as we will need to review our staff schedules according to the number of children at attendance for that requested day. We will do our best to accommodate the request, but we can not guarantee that all requests will be approved.

SPECIAL PROGRAMS: We offer Art and Music once a week.

We are not an immersion school, but we do teach basic and conversional Spanish and Mandarin Chinese at no extra cost to our students.
